The Perfect Morning Routine
Is there such a thing as the perfect morning routine?
Having a good morning routine can make all the difference to how we spend our day.
Whether you like to start with a morning meditation, making your bed, going for a run or sitting in bed with a coffee - your perfect morning routine is what feels good to you.
There are some things you can do that will ensure you’re off to a good start and that will keep you more accountable and on track towards your goals.
Good morning
- Drink a full glass of water when you wake up to rehydrate.
- Exercise in the morning - you’ll get those endorphins early and feel motivated for the rest of the day.
- Use your Little Gym Book journal (you’re welcome) to track your progress and remind yourself of your goals every morning.
- Have a healthy breakfast - fuelling yourself the right way will make you feel good and will ensure you’re more likely to make healthy choices throughout the day too.
- Prep your lunch for work the night before - this will give you more time in a morning and you’ll feel good knowing you already have a meal ready to go that’s on plan.
Simple ways to revitalise your mornings
If you want to revitalise your mornings and perfect your routine, these simple actions are also a great place to start.
- Drink your morning tea/coffee by the window or in the garden - breathe and get some fresh air.
- Think about what you want to achieve today - cook a meal, finish a project at work, listen to your favourite podcast, check in on a friend, fit in your workout!
- Focus on your morning thoughts - write them down, think about what you’re grateful for.
- Listen to the news - being woken by the radio or turning on when you get up will make you feel connected with the world.
- Put on your favourite music - dance and sing whilst you get ready. This is the perfect morning playlist, according to psychologists.
- Take a cold shower - this isn’t for everyone but it can wake you up and kick start your morning.
