Estimating Your 1RM
Do you know your one rep max?
Have you tried?
There is a way to estimate your 1RM based on the number of reps you do. Use the table below to find the right multiplier, then use this calculation:
Weight x Multiplier = Estimated One Rep Max
Example: Today my top set was 8 reps at 105kg, I couldn't do any more.
105 x 1.21 = 127kg
My estimated 1RM is 127kg
If I had more in the tank, my 1RM might be a bit higher than 127kg.
Remember, it is just an estimation. Have a look at our blog post on how to test your 1RM and find out for real!
Number of Reps | Multiplier |
2 | 1.03 |
3 | 1.06 |
4 | 1.09 |
5 | 1.12 |
6 | 1.15 |
7 | 1.18 |
8 | 1.21 |
9 | 1.24 |
10 | 1.27 |
Why does the table only go up to 10 reps?
1. The higher the rep count the less accurate the calculator
2. If you are hitting more than 10 reps, think about adding more weight
